One man had an interesting fishing trip in southeast Lyon County on Sunday.
The man fell from his fishing perch near Road 108 just north of Hartford and landed in better than two feet of mud. Lyon County deputies say the man was looking past an overhang when he lost his balance.
The man was reportedly sinking into the mud, so Hartford-Neosho Rapids and Emporia first responders were dispatched along with deputies around 3 pm. Hartford-Neosho Rapids got the man out of the mud without any injuries and he resumed his fishing excursion.
