The Emporia State softball team avoided elimination from the MIAA tournament with a 2-0 win over Northeastern State Friday.
Emma Furnish scored on a fielders choice in the 3rd inning.
Bailey Flewelling hit a solo home run in the 5th.
Sydney Righi was the winning pitcher tossing a 4 hit shut out.
Emporia State will play again Saturday at 10 am against Nebraska Kearney. UNK was shut out by Rogers State 9-0.
Emporia State will need to win 3 games Saturday to reach the MIAA Championship game.
