There has been another delay in a planned highway resurfacing project affecting parts of the KVOE listening area in southern Wabaunsee County.
The Kansas Department of Transportation is now planning to start work on parts of Kansas Highways 195 and 31 this upcoming Monday. The original plan was to start the project May 5. The start date was moved to Thursday (today) after rainfall entered the forecast, and showers and storms are expected at times Thursday night through Sunday. More storms are possible Tuesday.
K-31 will have about 10 miles of highway resurfacing from Highway 99 to the Osage County line. K-195 from Harveyville to K-31, or less than a mile worth of highway, will also be resurfaced.
Work on the better than $1.5 million project should end by late June.
