Enrollment numbers are down slightly while enrollment fees are down considerably for USD 252 Southern Lyon County.
During the board of education’s recent meeting Wednesday evening, members voted to decrease the district’s enrollment fees by combining technology and textbook fees roughly cutting the cost in half to $60. Additionally, the board approved enrollment packages for families with three children or more.
Argabright says the decrease comes after past increases in fees due to budget cuts at the state level.
A recent enrollment study also presented Wednesday indicates the district will be down roughly “a handful of students” for the coming year, however, Argabright says he is optimistic they will exceed those projections.
Additionally Wednesday, the board approved a policy related to out-of-state school-sponsored activities and continued long-running strategic planning discussions. Argabright also took time to offer his congratulations to all area graduates saying the district has “high expectations” for all of them.
