Emporia Police have arrested six individuals following a reported aggravated robbery and battery incident in early May.
According to EPD Captain Lisa Hayes, the investigation began May 2 after police received multiple calls about multiple individuals running from an apartment building in northeast Emporia around 6 pm. The calls also claimed there was one person yelling for help and police found an injured victim when they arrived at the scene who claimed multiple suspects, armed with guns and knives, had entered their apartment and proceeded to beat and burn them before fleeing.
Police began an investigation and have made the following arrests over the last two weeks.
*21-year-old Alfredo Perez and 22-year-old Lucas Aleman-Torres, both of Emporia, were arrested on Friday, May 6 on suspicion of aggravated robbery, aggravated battery, aggravated assault and aggravated burglary.
*24-year-old Christopher A. Diaz of Emporia was arrested Wednesday, May 11 on suspicion of aggravated robbery, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
*20-year-old Raul A. Diaz III of Emporia was arrested Thursday, May 12 on suspicion of aggravated robbery, aggravated battery, aggravated assault and aggravated burglary.
*21-year-old Jonathan Manzano of Emporia was arrested Friday, May 13th on suspicion of aggravated robbery, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
*18-year-old Amber N. Spencer of Emporia was arrested Monday on charges of interference with law enforcement, aiding and abetting, aggravated robbery, aggravated battery, aggravated assault and aggravated burglary.
Formal charges through the Lyon County Attorney’s Office are currently pending.
