Emporia High will be hosting a 5A regional track and field meet Friday at Emporia States Welch Stadium.
Field events start at 3:30 pm.
Track prelims begin at 4:30 pm.
The top 4 finishers in each event will advance to state.
Emporia Highs Fred Jackson is hoping to earn a return trip to state in the 400-meter dash.
Emporia High will be competing against athletes from Topeka West, Topeka Seaman, Salina South, Salina Central, Great Bend, Hays and Newton.
