S&A Telephone is getting matching funds from the state to continue expanding broadband access to Americus.
Kansas Governor Laura Kelly says S&A is among 11 businesses to receive funds through the Broadband Acceleration Grant program. S&A is planning around $122,000 worth of improvements and is receiving a dollar-for-dollar match.
In October 2020, S&A received $107,000 from the state Office of Broadband Development as a result of federal CARES Act funding to build infrastructure in downtown Americus. S&A received another $101,000 in March 2021 to provide over 50 homes with 1-gigabit-speed service.
