With Robin Newell officially retired from the Emporia Public Library, one candidate to replace her is in town Tuesday.
Maggie McKeithan, currently the public library director at Spring Lake District Library in Spring Lake, Michigan, will visit with library staff and the general public in a forum Tuesday morning. Residents are encouraged to learn McKeithan’s vision for the library and ask questions during the forum.
McKiethan has led the library in Spring Lake since 2019, but she has also led the Library District No. 1 in Doniphan County and is originally from Troy, Kansas. She also chaired the Kansas Library Association’s membership committee.
The forum is at 10:30 am at the library’s large meeting room.
