The State High School track meet begins its two-day run Friday.
4-5-6A will compete during the morning session.
Emporia Highs Alexa Shivley will be one of the first to compete. She will be competing in the Triple Jump.
Daghyn True will be running in the 3200-meter run.
Kyle Obermeyer will be the busiest of the Spartan athletes he will be running in both the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles and as part of the 4 x 400 relay.
Fred Jackson will be running in the 400-meter dash and the 4 x 400 relay.
Cooper Rech will also be running in the 400-meter dash and as part of the 4 x 400 relay.
Blake Spellman will be the 4th member of the 4 x 400 relay.
Over 100 area athletes will be competing in 94 events over the 2 days.
There are 5 area athletes seeded number 1 in their events.
Madison’s Casey Helm is seeded number 1 in both the discus and shot put.
His teammate Bryson Turner is seeded number 1 in the 100 and 200-meter dashes and the long jump and triple jump.
Brooklyn Jones of Lebo is seeded number 1 in the Javelin.
Thomas Unruh of Burlington is seeded number 1 in the pole vault.
Ethan Burton of Council Grove is seeded number 1 in the 100-meter dash.
