Day one of the State High School Track and Field meet is underway.
For Emporia High, Junior Kyle Obermeyer has qualified for the finals in the 110 hurdles. He finished 5th in his heat but his time was fast enough to advance to the finals.
Obermeyer finished in 11th place in the 300 hurdles.
Fred Jackson finished in 9th in the 400 meter dash..
Cooper Rech finished in 14th place in the 400 meter dash.
The 4 x 400 relay of Fred Jackson, Cooper Rech, Blake Spellman and Kyle Obermeyer finished in 14th place.
Alexa Shivley finished in 10th place in the Triple Jump after having the 2nd best jump in her heat.
Daghyn True finished in 12th place in the 3200 meter run. He went in seeded 15th.
