Kansas Free for Arts is looking for a new location.
Director Hank Osterhout had early details about an upcoming capital campaign during KVOE’s Talk of Emporia recently. He says it’s part of a Kansas Free for Arts relaunch effort, with a new building at the heart of that push. Several features are planned.
The fundraising goal hasn’t been announced yet.
Kansas Free for Arts has had temporary offices in downtown Emporia in years past. Osterhout says a permanent address will let Kansas Free for Arts have a year-round presence, foster collaboration with other existing arts groups and programs, and help the organization give more emphasis to Halfway to Everywhere.
The Kansas Free for Arts capital campaign comes with preparations ongoing for the upcoming Halfway to Everywhere Music and Arts Festival in early September. Osterhout says more information about both the festival and fundraising effort will be announced by mid- to late June.
