There will be summer baseball in Emporia, but it will look a little different.
This summer there will be a Junior team and Senior team but they will not be affiliated with the American Legion.
Anthony Markowitz who has coached the legion teams says it comes down to numbers.
About 11 players have committed to the senior team.
Coach Markowitz said the Junior team will be focused on development.
The Junior team plays their first doubleheader on June 8th at home against Andover.
On the softball diamond, the Emporia Energy will field 5 teams beginning with a U-8 team up to a U-14 team.
