(ESPN/KVOE) Many of the PGA’s top stars are defecting to the new LIV Golf Invitational Series.
2020 US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau is leaving the PGA. So is 2018 Masters champion Patrick Reed, according to numerous reports.
This means LIV Golf, funded by Saudia Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, will have at least nine former major champions in the fold by the time it has its first US-based tournament in Portland, Oregon, from June 30-July 2. That list includes six-time major champion Phil Mickelson, two-time major winners Dustin Johnson and Martin Kaymer, plus Sergio Garcia, Charl Schwartzel, Graeme McDowell and Louis Oosthuizen.
