KVOE honored its Emporia High School athletes and coach of the year on the most recent installment of Saturday Morning Sports Talk.
The girl’s athlete of the year was Gracie Gilpin who received 11 letters for basketball, volleyball and softball and eight all-league nominations throughout her career. Gilpin will be moving on to Cowley College to play basketball next fall.
She says they have high hopes for her at the next level.
The Coach of the Year was volleyball coach Ping Wang who led the EHS volleyball team to a sub-state championship and the team’s first appearance at the state tournament in five years this past season.
The boys’ Athlete of they Year was Cam Geitz. Geitz was unable to be in the studio Saturday and will instead join next week’s installment of Saturday Morning Sports Talk.
