(ESU) The 2022 Emporia State women’s soccer schedule is out.
The defending MIAA tournament champions open their season on August 26th at West Texas A&M. They will also play at St. Edwards in Austin, Texas on the 28th.
They will travel to North Dakota in week 2 to play the University of Mary and Minot State.
The first home match will be on Sunday, September 11th against Fort Hays State.
They will also host Northwest Missouri State on September 30th and Missouri Western on October 2nd.
The final 4 matches will be at home against Newman on October 14th and Central Oklahoma on October 16th. Nebraska Kearney on October 21st and Washburn on October 23rd.
This will be one of the most challenging seasons for the Hornets in school history. The entire non-MIAA portion of the schedule consists of teams with a winning record last season as the four teams combined to go 43-26-7 in 2021. Only three of Emporia State’s 18 matches will be against teams with a below .500 record last season.
Coach Bryan Sailer will return the top four scorers from last season led by All-American Mackenzie Dimarco, along with All-Region performers Hannah Woolery and Aislinn Hughes and All-MIAA defender Joanie Westcoat.
