Emporia High Senior Cam Geitz was recognized as the KVOE Emporia High male Athlete of the Year on Sports Talk Saturday morning.
Geitz was the starting quarterback on the football team for 2 years, was a member of the swim team for 3 years, and was a pitcher and infielder for the baseball team. He earned all Centennial League honors in both football and baseball.
Geitz will be attending TCU in the fall.
Geitz joins Gracie Gilpin as the Emporia High female Athlete of the Year and volleyball coach Ping Wang who is the Emporia Coach of the year.
The area high school athletes of the year are Casey Helm of Madison and Abby Peek of Lebo.
The area coach of the year is Olpes Chris Schmidt.
