Wednesday will be a busy day for USD 253 Emporia Public Schools.
The district will celebrate the opening of the Jones Early Childhood Development Center with a ribbon-cutting at the facility, 327 Walnut, at 3 pm. Refreshments and self-guided tours are part of the event.
Following that, the district’s Enrollment Study Work Group will begin discussing information and potential adjustments after declining enrollment the past several years. That discussion is part of a special board meeting beginning at 5:30 pm at Mary Herbert. Other discussion points include a restructuring of staff wages and a renewal of district insurance after an executive session on personnel matters.
