Rivers rose Wednesday after heavy rainfall earlier in the week, but no area gauges are close to flood stage after anywhere from 1-3 inches Tuesday and Wednesday.
Meanwhile, John Redmond Reservoir continues an above-normal release downstream to reduce the lake’s overall level, although the flow rate is slowing down. The release was nearly 13,000 cubic feet per second two weeks ago. It’s now down to just under 9,000 cfs. The lake is still almost 16 feet above normal, but it’s now about 11 feet below the top of the flood pool and 25 feet below the top of the dam.
Council Grove Lake is releasing just over 1,000 cfs. The lake is almost 7.5 feet above normal, but it is about 7.5 feet below the top of its flood pool and is almost 40 feet below the top of the dam.
Melvern Lake is still releasing about 1,000 cfs. The lake is about 1.5 feet above normal.
