The Texas Rangers defeated the Kansas City Royals 10-4 Monday night.
The Royals scored a run in the 1st inning. Whit Merrifield scored on a Bobby Witt Jr force out. Texas answered with 4 runs in the 2nd inning. The Royals tied the game at 4 with 3 runs in the 2nd inning. Whit Merrifield doubled to drive in Michael A. Taylor and Emmanuel Rivera. Merrifield scored on an Andrew Benintendi single.
The rest of the night belonged to the Rangers. Kris Bubic took the loss going 4.2 innings giving up 7 runs on 9 hits, 3 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Jackson Kowar did pitch 3.1 scoreless innings in relief.
Royals and Rangers play again Tuesday night. Jonathan Heasley will be the starting pitcher for the Royals with the first pitch at 7:10 pm. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM beginning at 6:30 pm.
