The Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve will offer a look back into history with a special event this weekend.
The preserve north of Strong City will have historic horse-drawn haying and raking demonstrations, with living history interpreters and teams of draft horses as part of the demonstrations south of the large barn between 10 am and 3 pm Saturday.
The event will also feature a look at 19th Century women’s roles through ranch stove cooking demonstrations from 10 am to noon. Kids activities like hoop-and-stick, running, jump rope and others will be featured from 1:30-3 pm.
All activities are free and open to the public.
