The Emporia community turned out in droves to wish Flinthills Mall a very happy 50th birthday Saturday.
Mall leadership organized an afternoon of activities including a food truck rally, children’s games, a coupon giveaway to the first 50 visitors, a bounce house, a dunk tank and so much more to commemorate the mall’s 50th anniversary. Among those who turned out to celebrate was former Mall Manager Jose Feliciano.
He says he is so proud to have been a part of the mall’s history.
Current manager Clarence Frye says engagement with the community and new tenants will be a major focus for he and his staff moving forward. He says they’re already on the right track with the recent opening of Dunham’s Sports.
Flinthills Mall Marketing Manager Heather Siebert says the mall’s longevity would not be possible without the unyielding support it receives from the Emporia community day after day.
