The Emporia Junior Spartan baseball team split a doubleheader with the Lyon County Baseball Club last night.
Lyon County won the first game 14-6. Cooper Hamlin was 3 for 4 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored for Lyon County. Ethan Redeker was 3 for 3 with 3 runs scored. Brody Cole was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored.
The Jr Spartans were led by Landon Wohletz and Scott Jones who each drove in 2 runs. Chase Harrington scored 2 runs.
The Jr Spartans won the second game 6-5 scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to earn the win. Luke Marshall was 3 for 4 with 2 RBI and 1 run scored.
Emporia Coach Anthony Markowitz was pleased with the way the team bounced back in the second game.
The Jr Spartans are 6-12 for the season. They will close out their season Saturday with a doubleheader at Andover.
