Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes is famous for evading opposing defenses, however, a new sponsorship deal saw the Kansas City quarterback evading NFL guidelines this week.
In a recent commercial, the four-time pro-bowler, two-time All-Pro and SuperBowl LIV MVP promoted “The Coors Light,” but not the beer itself per se. The commercial featured a flashlight that as Mahomes states, “feels as cold as the Rocky Mountains.”
According to NFL rules, the league does not permit players to directly endorse alcoholic beverages. In addition to the league rules, the NFL has only one official beer sponsor Bud Light according to an article by ESPN.
According to the same article, proceeds from the commercial will go to support Mahomes’ 15 and the Mahomies Foundation.
Mahomes’ latest endorsement follows an unsuccessful attempt by Washington Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke to form a partnership with beer manufacturer Heineken last fall.
