A handful of small fires developed inside an Emporia production facility Friday morning, and the exact reason is currently unclear.
Emporia Fire responded to Thermal Ceramics at 221 Weaver around 7:20 am. There were some initial reports of explosions on the third floor, but those were unfounded. Thre were some “pops” in the facility’s fiberglass vat that caught several small items on fire. All fires were doused by 8 am. The cause for the “pops” has not been clarified.
No injuries were reported.

Fire was reported at Thermal Ceramics, 221 Weaver, around 7:20 am and was reported out around 8 am.
An investigation is underway. A cause and origination point has not been announced.
