A Milford man accused of injuring an Emporia man during a shooting in Chase County will be back in court next month.
Eric McClure, 38, was originally set for a preliminary hearing Wednesday morning. The hearing was continued to 1:30 pm Aug. 5 at prosecutors’ request.
McClure’s defense attorney, Steve Atherton, had requested a modification of his bond, but that was denied, meaning bond remains at $75,000.
McClure is formally charged with one count of aggravated battery, three counts of aggravated assault and lesser counts after the alleged shooting incident May 13 near the Chase-Marion county line. McClure allegedly shot Erik Reyes as one SUV passed another on Kansas Highway 150. Reyes was treated at Newman Regional Health and released.
