Advance voting continues for the next week-plus across the KVOE listening area. One option for Lyon County voters will close down this weekend.
The offsite voting option continues at the Fairgrounds Anderson Building on Friday and Saturday. Hours are 10 am to 4 pm Friday and 9 am to 1 pm Saturday.
Thursday had almost 230 people voting at the Anderson Building and nearly 100 at the Courthouse. As of Friday morning, there have been nearly 400 voters at the Courthouse and over 350 at the Anderson Building. Nearly 220 of the 690 mail ballots have been returned for processing.
As the offsite process ends, residents can still vote in person at the Lyon County Courthouse from 8 am-5 pm weekdays next week. In-person office voting will end Aug. 1, with voting from 8 am to noon.
Lyon County Clerk Tammy Vopat reminds anyone who plans to cast their ballot in person, either at the Courthouse or the Anderson Building, valid photo IDs are needed. Due to electioneering laws, no campaign materials may be worn within 200 feet of a polling site.
The primary election is Aug. 2.
