Supplies are getting tight at the Salvation Army’s food pantry, at least for certain items.
Capt. Mylie Hadden detailed some of the areas of need on KVOE’s Morning Show recently.
Boxed meals like “helper” meals are always in demand. Hadden says canned vegetables, hot cereals, certain pastas and soups are in good supply at this time. Meats are donated by Walmart and Aldi.
The KVOE Drive for Food is the next big community food drive for the Salvation Army. That’s coming in October.
Off that topic, Hadden says the hot summer has sent a lot of people to the Salvation Army for help with utility bills — and also with fans. The Salvation Army has passed out all the fans donated by Evergy, but it recently received a donation from Sutherlands and there are still some fans available from that contribution.
