There are a lot of cool things in Kansas and now state residents have the opportunity to choose the coolest.
The 2022 Coolest Thing Made in Kansas competition is accepting nominations now through Aug. 26th. Last year’s winner was Hometown Pie Company in New Strawn.
Owner Wanda Chaffin says it came as a shock when her company was selected as the winner. She says business has picked up to a “12” since that announcement.
Burlington’s EMP Shield was the 2020 competition winner.
Nominations are being accepted for two categories, People’s Choice and Coolest Innovation. The coolest innovation category is new to the competition this year and serves as an opportunity to highlight Kansas manufacturers.
The competition will consist of 32 nominees — 16 people’s choice and 16 coolest innovations — in a head-to-head tournament-style bracket with weekly voting. The top vote-getters will move forward in the competition.
Nominations may be submitted online through Kansaschamber.wufoo.com. For more information visit Kansaschamber.org. The winners will be announced Oct. 13 at the Kansas Manufacturing Summit.
