Classes begin soon at Flint Hills Technical College. If the summer is any indication, enrollment could have a healthy spike.
Classes start Monday. On KVOE’s Tech Talk this week, President Caron Daugherty said both headcount and full-time-equivalent numbers look promising.
Official headcount stats are announced in late September.
Daugherty has said several programs are either full or nearly full for a few months now, and she reiterated that statement Tuesday.
This has put added emphasis on teacher recruitment and retention at a time when both schools and colleges are scrambling to fill slots. Daugherty says the college just finalized its last faculty position this week.
Off the enrollment topic, Daugherty announced the hire of Bri Julo as the college’s director of marketing and media relations. Julo was most recently an advertising executive with the Emporia Gazette and has already started her new duties.
