As the city of Emporia continues navigating new waters, a new citywide survey will help the administration identify the city’s strengths and weaknesses according to City Manager Trey Cocking.
During a recent installment of the Talk of Emporia, Cocking discussed a recent survey that began arriving in residents’ mailboxes last weekend. According to Cocking, the survey through ETC is designed to give the city residents feedback on which areas the community thinks need improvement.
Cocking refers to the survey as a “benchmark” process.
Though well over a century old, Cocking says the city is a “new” organization given the recent changes in leadership over the past year alone. He says with so many new faces this survey is a very important tool.
Cocking says the city is hoping for a 12-13 percent response rate from residents in the coming weeks. The survey consists of roughly 60 questions and can be filled out either online by using a QR code provided or by filling out the paper survey and mailing it back to the city.
Cocking says they are hoping to have the responses in hand within the next 45 days.
