A former Lyon County prosecutor has advanced to the interview stage for one of two new judge positions in the 7th Judicial District.
Jonathon Noble is now the chief public defender for the Northeast Conflicts Public Defender Office. He served as an assistant Lyon County attorney from 2008-2018.
The 7th District involves Douglas County.
Another former Lyon County prosecutor, Tim Dupree, has been a judge in the 29th District since 2015. Dupree was also a judge pro tem in Wyandotte County while serving as an attorney from 2010-2014. He was an assistant Lyon County attorney from 2004-2008.
Current Assistant Lyon County Attorney Laura Miser is one of three finalists under consideration for the 5th Judicial District position opening up when Merlin Wheeler retires next month after more than 30 years on the bench. 5th District Magistrate Judge Doug Jones and defense attorney Jeremy Dorsey are the other finalists.
