The Emporia State football team held its 8th practice Wednesday.
They spent part of the practice working on the RedZone. Coach Garin Higgins said that is one area that needs to improve.
Another area that has been a focus for improvement was limiting the number of big plays.
The Hornets return five players with starting experience in the secondary, led by Senior Jaedon Pool.
Junior Montrell Wilson says it has been a good training camp.
Sophomore Khalil Rasheed is looking to build off the experience he gained last year.
Defensive Secondary Coach Eriq Moore says this is a good group of players.
The Hornets will hold an evening practice Thursday evening as part of Booster night.
