Emporia Public Schools has announced a schedule change to the district calendar heading into the Labor Day weekend.
Sept. 2 is now a half-day for most students and it’s a day off for pre-K students at Jones Early Childhood Development Center:
*Flint Hills Learning Center will dismiss students at 10:45 am
*Elementary schools will dismiss students at 11:49 am
*Emporia High and Emporia Middle School will dismiss students at 12:07 pm
Students will get lunch and bus transport will run accordingly, but there will not be after-school care.
The calendar adjustment was approved Aug. 10. It will give time for professional development outside the regularly-schedule Professional Learning Community time on Wednesdays.
