The USD 253 Emporia Board of Education has updates on a range of topics as part of its regular meeting Wednesday.
Board members will get the latest academic achievement report based on spring 2022 state assessments and FastBridge data. They will also get a construction update from McCownGordon as work continues on the nearly $80 million Building for the Future bond package. Also, board members will get the latest on the district’s COVID-19 situation and response.
In other business, board members may approve the purchase of 1,200 Chromebooks for students from kindergarten to third grade. Estimated cost is $410,000. A renewal proposal on health insurance is also on the agenda.
Several partnerships could be extended as part of the consent agenda, including concurrent enrollment agreements with Flint Hills Technical College and Butler Community College, a lease extension with Flinthills Mall, a secondary education memorandum of understanding with Emporia State University and an MOU with the Emporia Country Club.
