Some big changes are coming to CareArc at 420 West 15th in the coming months.
CareArc CEO Renee Hively had updates on KVOE’s Talk of Emporia, starting with a move and new layout for the dental clinic, currently on the main floor.
This will dovetail with a consolidation of the medical clinic spaces, also on first floor, and a relocation of behavioral health to be near the new medical clinic space.
While these projects get underway, Hively says CareArc is in the process of switching its medical records vendor from Greenway to Epic by Nov. 5. Hively says this will integrate medical records for all CareArc’s providers. It will also mean an enhanced information portal for CareArc patients, including appointment scheduling, prescription refills and lab result access.
The total renovation costs will be around $3 million, paid for by federal funds. A decision on bids could be coming after a special executive board meeting Sept. 6, with demolition work beginning soon afterward. The medical clinic could be revamped by March, while the dental clinic could be ready for patients by July. Hively says these changes could lead to expanded services down the road.
Renovations and the switch to the new medical records system follow the installation of new signage after Flint Hills Community Center changed its name to CareArc back in March.
