It’s just about time for the Halfway to Everywhere Music and Arts Festival in downtown Emporia.
Lead organizer and event spokesman Hank Osterhout says everything is falling into place.
On KVOE’s Newsmaker segment Wednesday, Osterhout said it’s a relief to have the festival enjoying a high level of interest going into this weekend after the event survived two years of COVID-19.
Activities typically are reserved to Saturday, and the core of the festival begins at 1 pm. However, Halfway has an opening concert involving three bands from 6-9 pm Friday as part of a collaboration with the Pro Disc Golf Association World Championships Flymart and the Emporia First Friday monthly Artwalk.
Thirty-five bands will be on five stages in downtown Emporia along with an expanded arts expo from years past. More information about Halfway to Everywhere is online at www.ksfreeforarts.org.
