Rachel Daisy Cunningham was sentenced to over three years in prison for criminal mistreatment of a dependent adult.
Lyon County Judge Merlin Wheeler to the aggravated sentence of 38 months in prison at Cunningham’s sentence Thursday. Cunningham also has 24 months of postrelease supervision.
Cunningham pleaded no contest in early June and was subsequently convicted. Single counts of drug and paraphernalia possession were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
Assistant Lyon County Attorney Amy Aranda says Cunningham, who is also listed under the alias of Richard Douglas Cunningham in court records posted online, “omitted or deprived the dependent of treatment, goods or services necessary to maintain the physical or mental health of the dependent person.” Aranda says there was no financial component in this mistreatment case.
