The Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve is ready to launch its annual quilt display with a new theme that visitors will be able to enjoy this Labor day.
Chief of Interpretation, Heather Brown says this year’s display is focused on the 9-patch and 4-patch design, which is a basic of quilting.
Additionally, the display will include a presentation by historian Deb Devine concerning the history of local women’s role in quilting.
The Labor Day quilt display will run Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the historic barn. Devine’s presentation will be on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
For more information about the event or to present a quilt for the display call the preserve at 620-273-8494.
