The Emporia State soccer team picked up their first win of the season Sunday in record-setting fashion. The Lady Hornets defeated Minot State 5-1.
Mackenzie Dimarco scored the first goal less than 3 minutes into the match. Hannah Woolery had the 1st of 3 assists in the match.
Aislinn Hughes scored the second goal in the 24th minute of play to give Emporia State a 2-0 lead at halftime.
Hannah Woolery scored a goal just over 2 minutes into the 2nd half.
Alexis Cole added a goal in the 62 minute of play.
And Mackenzie Dimarco closed out the scoring with a goal in the 72nd minute of play.
The 2 goals give Dimarco 40 career goals a new Emporia State record. Breaking the record held by Brandie Booth of 38.
Hannah Woolerys’ 3 assist ties the school record for most assists in a match. That gives her 17 career assists which is a new school record.
The Lady Hornets will play at Washburn on Friday and host Fort Hays State on Sunday.
