Repaving continues on parts of Emporia’s West Sixth Avenue.
Both eastbound lanes were repaved with temporary striping added this week. This leaves work ahead on both westbound lanes and the center turning lane.
Construction crews milled all five lanes of traffic at the end of last month.
Work could continue for about a month on West Sixth between Prairie and Neosho. The city partners with KDOT every year for the CCLIP, or City Connecting Link Improvement Program, which involves pavement resurfacing and other associated projects for heavily-traveled streets.
The annual CCLIP project follows a significant waterline replacement project affecting West Sixth from Arundel to Woodland earlier this year.
