One defendant in an alleged home invasion robbery incident this past spring has his next court hearing in Lyon County District Court on Wednesday.
Jonathon Manzano will be in court for a preliminary hearing at 3 pm.
Manzano faces single counts of aggravated robbery, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, drug possession and paraphernalia possession. Charges were filed, dropped and re-filed after people were running in the area of an unlisted apartment building in northeast Emporia and one person was screaming for help in early May. Officers said several suspects armed with guns and at least one knife got into an apartment before beating and burning the alleged victim.
Manzano was one of six defendants initially charged, but charges are currently in effect only against one co-defendant: Christopher Diaz, who is charged with two counts of drug possession, one count of marijuana distribution and one count of paraphernalia possession.
