The weather forced a change in location, but it didn’t dampen the energy for Jesse McCartney’s concert at Emporia State on Friday.
McCartney, best known for his pop hit “Beautiful Soul,” also played several songs from his most recent album, New Stage, which was released last year.
The concert was supposed to take place outside Plumb Hall, but due to wet conditions, it moved inside to Albert Taylor Hall.
The concert was organized by the Union Activities Council and Friday Nights Committee. Student organizer Eliza, who declined to give her last name due to non-university reasons, says the concert was a great morale boost for the campus community after faculty and staff cuts, as well as talk about realignment and reinvestment, over the past two weeks.
The Friday Nights entertainment series concludes Sept. 30 with a beach volleyball party from 5-7 pm at the Student Rec Center followed by hypnotist David Hall at the Memorial Union at 8 pm.
