Kansas Attorney General candidate Chris Mann says he wants to keep politics out of the office if he’s elected.
Mann is running against Republican Kris Kobach, who once served as Kansas secretary of state.
A Democrat, Mann is a former police officer in Lawrence, but his career path changed when a drunk driver hit him several years ago.
After serving in the Lawrence police department, Mann then worked as a prosecutor for the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office and attorney with the Kansas Securities Commission.
The general election is Nov. 8.
