For the second time, the 4th Judicial District Nominating Commission is renewing a call for candidates for a new district magistrate judge post in Coffey County.
The first call came in mid-August. Word on why the board is asking for more nominations is currently pending.
Nominees need to be a resident of Coffey County; a graduate of a high school, secondary school or equivalent; and either a lawyer admitted to practice in Kansas or ready for certification within 18 months.
The position is one of several new judge posts across the state after action by the Kansas Legislature earlier this year.
