Unfortunately, Lyon County is adding to its COVID-19 death toll.
The latest report from Lyon County Public Health indicates three deaths from COVID since Sept. 21. The county total is now 128. This represents the first increase in deaths in two months.
Positive case numbers, meanwhile, dropped notably since Sept. 21. Public Health reported 25 new cases, down from 61 last week and down from the upper 70s to low 90s in place since early August.
Lyon County is now at 11,474 total cases since the pandemic started.
After seeing high transmission rates as tracked by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention the past few weeks, both Lyon and Greenwood counties are now in the low category. In fact, the only area county not in the low transmission category is Morris County, which is in the moderate category.
