Sunday night’s game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be played in Tampa at Raymond James Stadium as originally scheduled, the NFL confirmed Thursday.
The location of Sunday’s game had been in doubt as Hurricane Ian forced the Buccaneers to practice in Miami this week as the storm hit the western Florida coast. The Buccaneers announced that the Tampa area was spared “the most damaging consequences of this powerful storm” and the team had informed the league it was ready to host Sunday Night Football.
Kick-off Sunday night is set for 7:20pm.
Kansas City Chiefs punter Tommy Townsend has been named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month after the third-year punter averaged a league-best 49.5 net yards on his 11 punts to begin the season. He dropped five of those punts inside the 20-yard line, including a 74-yard boot in Week 2.
