Three Emporia High tennis players have qualified for next week’s Class 5A state tournament in Andover.
Freshman Kali Keough qualified in singles play with a second-place finish at Saturday’s regional held at the Emporia High Tennis Courts.
Joining Keough at state will be the doubles team of freshman Peyton Chanley and junior Ashlyn Foraker. They finished in sixth place. This will be Foraker’s second trip to state.
Chanley says she’s excited to be going to state with Foraker.
Danika Williams, the Spartans’ other singles player went 0-1 while the doubles team of Darian Chadwick and Kailey Reynoso also went 0-1.
As a team, the Spartans finished fourth behind regional champion Seaman, regional runner-up De Soto and Blue Valley Southwest.
The Class 5A state tournament begins on Friday in Andover.
