The Emporia High girls golf team will play as a team on the final day of the season Tuesday.
On Monday, the Spartans shot a 343 as a team on the first day of the Class 5A state tournament held at Hesston.
The Spartans were led by Avary Eckert who shot a 75 and is in a tie for fourth place. Olivia Eckert is in a tie for seventh after a round of 80. Elise Eckert shot a 93 while Peyton Owens shot a 112.
Emporia High sits in fourth place as a team, one stroke behind Hays, who sits in third place, 12 strokes behind Maize, who is in second and round one leader Kapaun Mt. Carmel, who shot a 318.
Tuesday’s round is being delayed to 11 a.m. due to the cold weather expected. The Spartans will tee off in 10-minute intervals between 11:40 a.m. and 12:20 p.m.
