Lyon County deputies are looking for one man in the alleged shooting of another near Emporia earlier this week.
Sheriff Jeff Cope says deputies are looking for 37-year-old Logan Casteel of unknown address.
Cope says the search for Casteel follows a shooting that came to light Monday evening. Deputies and Emporia Police officers responded to Newman Regional Health shortly after 7:30 pm Monday after a person sought treatment for at least one gunshot wound. Cope says 38-year-old Justin Smith of Fredonia reported being shot at 625 Road 160 by somebody he knew.
Smith was transferred to an out-of-town hospital. Injuries were not specified but were announced as serious.
Casteel is a white male, with brown hair and brown eyes. Other descriptive information is not immediately available. Casteel is considered armed and dangerous, so people who see him should not engage or approach him.
