Navigating Medicare can be confusing and overwhelming. To combat these anxieties, members of Lyon County seeking guidance on their prescription drug plans under Medicare are invited to the open enrollment and counseling service on Monday.
Counselors with the Area Agency on Aging Senior Health Insurance Counseling for Kansas (SHICK) program are available to assist and enroll residents in the correct Medicare plans to fit individual medical needs at no cost.
The event will take place at the North Lyon County Senior Center, 423 Main St. in Allen, Kansas, from 9 am to 4 pm, by appointment with a counselor.
Residents also have other opportunities to speak with Medicare professionals. The dates available are as follows:
Oct. 28 Hartford Community Center
Nov. 2-3 Lyon County Fairgrounds Anderson Building – Emporia
Nov. 7 American Legion – Emporia
